Police Zone 16 Gets a New AIG

A new Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Police has resumed duty at Zone 16 of the Nigerian Police Force Headquarters, Yenagoa.
A press release signed by the Zonal Police Public Relations Officer (ZPPRO), CSP Ikwo Kevin Lafieghe, and made available to BochNews, Saturday, September 9th, stated that the Zone 16 new helmsman, AIG Idrisu Dabban Dauda took over from his predecessor, AIG Ben Okolo, who has been redeployed to Force Headquarters, Abuja.
The statement said; “This is to bring to the notice of the Residents of Bayelsa and Rivers State, as well as members of the Public that a new Assistant Inspector-General of Police, AIG Idrisu Dabban Dauda, fdc,psc(+), has assumed and taken over duty from AIG Ben Okolo, fdc, who has been redeployed to Force Headquarters, Abuja.
“AIG Idrisu Dauda, was commissioned into the Nigeria Police Force as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police in 1990. He holds a Masters Degree in Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice, from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
“The AIG who hails from Niger State, is a distinguished Fellow of the Prestigious Defence College and a Member of the Nigeria Institute of Management.”
AIG Dauda is said to have served meritoriously in different capacities at various commands and formations across the country, which includes; Commissioner of Police, Katsina and Kogi state Commands, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Department of Finance and Administration, Nigeria Police Staff College, Jos, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Operations, Enugu State.
He has also served as a member and Liaison officer, Federal Government Staff Housing Loan Board, amongst others.
His last posting before the deployment to the Zonal Headquarters was AIG, Department of ICT, Force Headquarters, Abuja.
The Zonal Command headquarters, solicits the support and co-operation of all and sundry, for a robust working relationship with the new Zonal Commander., according to the release.
