A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ahoada East Local Government Area, Gideon Ekwa, has commended the Ahoada East Council Chairman, Hon. Barr. Ben Eke for appointing members of opposition parties into the Palliative Distribution Committee.
Ekwa, who described the council boss as a man of integrity, noted that the act demonstrated his commitment to unite the people irrespective of political affiliations.
The party chieftain said the appointment of a serving Youth Leader of Rivers West Senatorial District of the All Progressives Congress, Mr Chisa Ogboka, as Secretary of the Committee is highly commendable and has shown the leadership prowess and open mindedness of the chairman to carry the people of Ahoada East along, irrespective of political affiliation.
He commended the council chairman for his vision in enshrining development in the LGA, adding that the council boss has taken over 70% of the burden of students in Ahoada East by paying bursary and other entitlements.
He noted that the chairman’s drive to empower the youth and women through skill acquisition and ICT cannot be equalled in the comity of other LGAs in Rivers State.
He called on the good people of Ahoada East to join hands with the council boss to bring peace and reposition the LGA for the greater benefit of the people.
