The people of Odiemelu sub clan in Igbu Ehuda Kingdom of Ekpeye Ethnic Nation has formalized the crowning of its paramount ruler, His Royal Highness, Eze Pst Christian Ideozu.

The coronation, which took place in the early hours of August 19th, at its community hall, Ahoada, amidst jubilation, was performed by the eldest man in the community.

He prayed for increased wealth, long life, prosperity and a peaceful reign as he placed the crown of authority on his head, signifying the formal authorized hitherto elected paramount ruler to act for and on behalf of the people of Odiemelu sub clan.

In his acceptance speech, Eze Ideozu assured his people that he would attract unprecedented development that has eluded them over the years because he was formally crowned as tradition demands.

Eze Ideozu explained that after he was elected unopposed as the king designate, a brother took him to court which halted the coronation process that lingered over the years, which he added, has been evacuated.

He assured his people that the things denied them because of the non coronation is now history, hinting that Odiemelu sub clan would take its rightful place amongst the comity of sub clans in Ekpeye Ethnic Nation and beyond.

The paramount ruler thanked those who stood by him through thick and thin over the years and have made his crowning possible.

He called for unity of purpose and peaceful coexistence amongst the people.

He enjoined the youths to shun all forms of social vices that would make them vulnerable to untimely death and clash with security agencies.

He especially encouraged them to shun the intake of illicit drugs.

He promised to work with his Council of Chiefs and in synergy with the security agencies to curb crime and criminal elements that may breed crises in his domain, revealing that his subjects have never been part of the security challenges in the area.

Elder Theodius Blessing U. Ideozu who described the coronation as unique, said the proposal for it was long over due and thanked God for the actualization.

He urged the people of Odiemelu to exhibit loyalty and obedience, with much patience and perseverance to the crowned paramount ruler, since according to him; ‘nobody is perfect.’

“They should look and leap. They should always consult, not acting impulsively because they hear something about him. They should always co-operate with him,” Elder Ideozu advised.

Elder Ideozu advised the youths to embrace the crowned Eze and shun being misled, pointing out the patience is a virtue that would pay them better as future leaders.

The Eze Uwhe Ula Eyekele, Chief Udoh Epele, while reacting to questions from journalists, said the coronation was remarkable and an end to the seeming seige against the people. He revealed that there was a one man created crisis after the peaceful election of the crowned paramount ruler. The crisis delayed the coronation, according to him.
