The Bayelsa State All Progressives Congress (APC) chairman, Dr Dennis Otiotio, has expressed optimism that President Bola Tinubu’s administration would engender the needed infrastructural and human capital development.

Dr Otiotio, who described the President as a man with the capacity to build something from nothing, stated that he is the best political choice Nigerians have made in recent years.

The APC state chairman dropped the hint on Monday, May 29th at the party secretariat while celebrating the inauguration, adding that the state would benefit immensely from his administration based on his promises that having conquered the Atlantic ocean in Lagos, the twin problems of flood and erosion will be a thing of the past.

He prayed that God Almighty, would give the President and his team the needed wisdom, knowledge, understanding and strength to pilot the affairs of the country aright.

He said Bayelsans are happy for the new administration, hence they are gathered to celebrate the epoch making inauguration of the 16th elected president of the federal republic of Nigeria.

The APC chairman described the event as unique and symbolic being the first time an APC government is handing over power to another APC president.

He opined that the new president would consolidate on the gains of his predecessor, believing he will not fail the people of Nigeria at large and Bayelsans especially.

On the statement credited to the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the state that the last administration of Mohammadu Buhari was a wasted 8years that executed no project in the state, the APC chairman said; “Well, you know that the outgone government of Buhari had undertaking several projects in the state.

“The Bayelsa Palm – Otuoke Road, which is almost completed, Federal Secretariat just commissioned, Mother And Child Hospital, Azikoro already commissioned, Okpoama – Brass Road, Oloibiri Oil/Gas museum.

“Emeyal oil and gas Park, several projects sited at Polaku, Azikel oil has federal government investment and other projects too numerous to mention that the outgone government of Buhari had executed in the state.”

He described as a shame on the state government to use such complaints to divert attention. His words: “It is a shame that the state government is using that to divert attention from their ineptitude, high level of underdevelopment.

“You can see that from the past three years of Douye Diri’s government been in office, they have not done anything, despite the huge amount of millions of naira accrued to the state. What we have on ground is not commensurate with the money accrued.

“The people of Bayelsa State are aware that Douye Diri’s government is a rehearsing government. They have not been able to bring development to the people, they have not been able to govern the state.”

In a related development, the APC chairman of Ekeremor Local Government Area of the State, Senator Mitin, has said that the new political era and leadership elicits excitement, since he believes much in the president.

Mitin, who described the president’s leadership style as exceptional, added that his political pedigree attests to his capacity to redirect the country to the promised land.

He urged the president to focus on human capacity building in all geophysical zones of the country, since according to him; ‘he is good in that area.’

The LGA party chairman called on the president to pay more attention on the Niger Delta region by replicating what he did in Lagos, since it has peculiar topographic nature, so that dividends of democracy can get to them.

Mitin enjoined Bayelsans to key in to the national government by voting in the APC gubernatorial candidate, Timipre Sylva, and eulogized Sylva for his experience and achievements while he held sway as the state governor.
