The founder/ Chief Executive Officer ( CEO) of Negaliems Charity Foundation, Mrs Grace Onyiri, has called on government, well meaning Nigerians and spirited sons and daughters of Ekpeye ethnic nation to contribute towards ameliorating the suffering of the victims of the ravaging flood which has displaced many from their homes.

Mrs Grace made the call in a chat with newsmen Thursday, October 13 at Ahoada Town, the Negaliems CEO, who noted that a lot of people are going through difficult times occasioned by the flood and needed immediate assistance, said government, its agencies and individuals should donate relief materials.

She further stated that letting government alone to handle the menace of the flood, would appear inhumane since, it can not do it alone.

The NGO Chief Executive appealed to churches and other voluntary organisations to come out in contributing to cushion the effects of the flood in any way possible, adding that only money would not solve everything.

“I am calling on well-meaning Nigerians to come to the aid of the flood victims.

“There are lots of the people who have been swiffed off by the flood and they need immediate assistance.

“As an NGO, we call on the government to donate relief materials, release the approved cash and others to make it easier for the NGOS to reach out to the flood victims.

“Their farm lands, properties destroyed, they need help from the government, even as at this morning , there are fresh reports of flood in Ekpeye and in Ogba communities.

“We know that government can not do it alone. Let the churches, public spirited individuals and organisations contribute one way or the other in cushioning the people’s suffering,” she appealed.
