An APC chieftain and the State Youth Leader, Chief Agama Preye has said that Bayelsa State has a People’s Democratic Party (PDP) government but an All Progressives Congress (APC) population.

Chief Preye, who was fielding questions from newsmen in his office at the party secretariat, Tuesday, September 6, added that the APC’s victorious feat of 2019 would be reenacted come 2023 General Elections in the legislative assembly elections.

The party youth leader asserted that with the seeming rudderless governance, lack of human capital development and gross unemployment in the state, Bayelsans are yearning for change, which according to him; ‘only an APC government can offer’.

He hinted that the party having embarked on youths sensitization campaigns and still continuing in some local government areas, have rebuilt the hopes of members.

The APC number one youth tasked the youths to spread the message of voting for their guaranteed future, stating that that could be achieved through the crop of candidates the party has fielded for the legislative assemblies from top to bottom.

He urged the people of the state, especially the youths to use their PVC wisely by voting out non performance, stressing that Bayelsans would know more during the campaigns.

On the Obident movement that is largely populated by the youths, Chief Preye said: “I think discussing that is more or less an insult to the All Progressives Congress, because we are talking about elections and not Facebook or yahoo yahoo movements.

“In Bayelsa, what is the structure of the so called Obident movement? I don’t see the Labour Party fielding any meaningful candidate.

“Which youths are we talking about supporting Peter Obi? Who is more of a youth than I that have been the Ijaw Youth Congress (IYC,) Deputy President Worldwide and SA on Security to NDDC and now, the APC Youth Leader?

“By my pedigree, I would know the youths that have capacity to mobilize for somebody. I have not seen such supporting Peter Obi in Bayelsa State. It is not about making noise that youths this, youths that. As far as I can see, there are no youths there”.

He said he wondered why the media is always bringing up the Obident movement in all interviews, advising that the media be more investigative.
