KANO: Staff Welfare Will Be Prioritized – LG Commissioner . . . Pledge To Uplift Councils’ Standard

The newly sworn in Commissioner, Ministry For Local Government And Chieftaincy Affairs in Kano State, Lamin Zawiyya, has assured workers of his ministry that he would prioritize staff welfare.

Zawiyya, who assumed duty Monday, September 5th at the Audu Bako secretariat, while craving for support from the staff of the establishment to enable him discharge his duties effectively, stated that his door would be open for positive advice for the speedy development of the LGA’s of the state.

The commissioner stressed that it is only when he gets the staff support and co-operation that positive results would be achieved.

He hinted that he would continue from where the former commissioner of the ministry, Murtala Sule Garo stopped in upifting the standard of the 44 local governments to the highest status through the provision of all the necessary social amenities.

The commissioner commended the state governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and the former commissioner of the ministry, Murtala Sule Garo for the opportunity given to him to serve his people positively, pledging not to relent in all endeavours.

Speaking earlier, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Ibrahim Sagagi, explained that the appointment of Lamin Zawiyya and his posting to the ministry was well deserved and timely.

Sagagi who described the commissioner as an achiever, explained that the successes he recorded while he was the chairman of the Nasarawa Local Government Area had undoubtedly lifted his status to a high pedestal.

Sagagi also assured that the staff of the ministry were loyal and would support the new commissioner to achieve his positive goals throughout his tenure at the ministry.
