AHOADA EAST LG ELECTION: Hon Nweze Declares Interest . . . Promises Free Electricity Supply

The people of Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State, may heave a sigh of relief, if promises made by an aspirant in the forth coming Council Election is anything to hold on to.

Hon LoveGod Nweze, officially declares his interest for the chairmanship position in Ahoada East Local Government Area under the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) promised to make a difference in governance.

Nweze declared that residents and indigenes of the LGA will cease to pay for electric power supply, amongst other things, if given the opportunity to become the Council Chairman.

He reeled out the challenges the people of the LGA are facing as a result of governmental and administrative incompetence, assuring that his would bring succour and a better alternative to the people.

“I will run an all inclusive and people oriented government, whose focus will be the people.

“Having seen the administrative incompetence and lack of focus that has robbed my people of the dividends of democracy, I will change the narrative.

“We must not continue to wallow in penury in the midst of plenty. Enough is enough”, Hon Nweze declared.

Nweze informed the mammoth crowd that he would bring his wealth of experience in governance to bear and also use wide range of contacts to attract investment through PPP initiative.

In his speech, the Chairman of the Occasion, HRH, Hon. (Dr) Christian E. Ideozu, former Chairman of Old Ahoada Local Government Area and also currently the Chairman, Ahoada-East PDP Elders Forum lampooned the present council administration for negligence and not carrying along PDP Elders Council, Youths and Party faithfuls.

He urged the people to support Hon LoveGod, as according to him; “has influenced and worked assiduously to keep party men and her structure together within his capacity”.

He described the aspirant as viable, trustworthy and efficient.

A University lecturer, Sir Nwuche Michael said, “Having served PDP as its pioneer Deputy Chairman at the LGA level, since the inception of the current Ben Eke led administration, there has not been any party meeting or congress at the LGA. There is no dividend of democracy to the party followers.

“Hence, the need to make hay while the sun shines”.

A member and State Officer of PDP Ex-Councilors Forum, Rivers State Chapter – Hon. Justice Barina, eulogized the aspirant, saying “Through the efforts of LoveGod Nweze, some of the Ex-Councillors were duly recognized, appointed care-taker members and chairmen in their various LGAs”.

“I am convinced if given the opportunity, he will perform greatly. He is a detribalised person and a good bridge builder”.

A woman representative, Mrs Veronica Humphrey, said based on Hon. LoveGod’s antecedents, women in the LGA are fully ready and willing to follow him on his political aspirations because he has been tested and trusted.

BochNews investigation revealed that Hon LoveGod Nweze has been a one time councillor. He runs a political association called One-on-One Network and Progressive Like-Minds in Ahoada-East Local Government Area.

He is a pioneer Chairman of Ex-Councillors Forum, Rivers State Chapter. He also doubles as the Director-General (DG) of the One-On-One Network resident in the 36 States of the Federation and the Secretary Abeni Azeez Support Initiative, (AASI).

The declaration drew dignitaries from far and near, among whom are; HRH Christian E. Ideozu (JP), Dr. Agbo Emmanuel, Hon. Odoyi Rowland, Hon. Emezu Lucky and Hon Noble Ejima.

Others are; Hon. Daddy Nweye, Hon Lawrence Anugwo, Hon. Austin Ikpe, Chief Michael Nwuche JP, Sir Hon. Dennis Ololube JP, High Chief D. S. Otushi, HRH Mathias Ejila, Hon Sunday Michael, Eric Okpara.
