The National Chairman of Ekpeye Oil and Gas Pipelines Host Families Association (EOG), Comrade Chidi Dogini has declared that the group will bring the needed developmental changes the ethnic nation deserves and had eluded it for years.
Dogini made the declaration in his new year goodwill message to the people of Ekpeye ethnic nation. The National Chairman said in the message, “I welcome the good people of Ekpeye Ethnic nation to the Year 2021. The Year of TOTAL RECOVERY.
“We are glad to be ushered into the new year, therefore let the joy of the new year renew our hopes and aspirations for better days ahead.
“As we celebrate the new year, may I once again reiterate our strong resolve to pursue the aims and objectives of EOG to ensure that our people are set free from the shackles of oppression, intimidation, marginalisation and deprivation that have held us back as a people”.
The EOG Chairman prayed that God in His infinite mercies will crown the people’s efforts with success in the new year, and wished everyone a happy and prosperous New Year.
The chairman revealed that the body had made some tangible impact since its inception and promised to improve on it
He further called on the youths to eschew all forms of oil and gas facility vandalism, as according to him; “Oil and gas facility vandalism creates more hazard to the environment and ecosystem than good”.
Also in his New Year message, the EOG Chairman appealed to the companies to support targeted empowerment programmes in the various Families/Communities as part of their support to encourage the Host Landlords.
He called on the International Oil Companies (IOCs) to partner with EOG to preserve our environment by supporting programmes on Biodiversity as most valid resources are being lost as a result of the oil and gas exploration of IOCs which has depleted the Ozone Layer.
Dogini urged the companies to do the needful as EOG is ever ready to partner with them to ensure that the desired social change is achieved.
