Former President Goodluck Jonathan, has declined to make comment on the possibility of his running for the presidency in the 2023 election, saying it was too early to start discussions.

The Cable Newspaper online reported that Dr Jonathan, who spoke to newsmen after attending an event organised by Commonwealth Community Choir in Abuja, refused to comment if he would run for the 2023 presidential election or not.

“It is too early to talk about that,’ he said.
There have been speculations that the former president, who was lost to President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress(APC )in the 2015 presidential election is being wooed to contest the 2023 election.

Recently, some governors of the APC had paid a visit to Jonathan in his Abuja residence and had a private meeting with him.

The meeting was sequel to the defection of the Governor of Ebonyi State from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC.

When asked to comment on the security situation in Nigeria, Jonathan enjoined Nigerians to support the federal government in order to win the war against terrorism.
