I Will Not Condone Criminality, Bayelsa Compol Charges Newly Promoted Officers

The Bayelsa State Commissioner of Police, CP Ben Okolo, has charged newly One Hundred and Eleven (111) promoted officers that no form of criminality would be condoned under their watch.
Okolo, who gave the charge on Tuesday, June 14th, before decorating the officers at the police officers mess, Yenagoa, added that they must live up to the task to see that the state is safe for the citizenry.
The state Police Chief warned the promoted officers not to abuse their ranks, but to see it as reward for hard work and call to be more committed to their duties and added that the promotion of the officers would encourage and inspire others to work harder.
The Commissioner said, the relative peace been experience in the State is as a result of collaboration between the Police and other security agencies in the State.
“It is not by accident that Bayelsa State is considered relatively safe, the crime statistic is low, is as a result of combination of a lot of factors, the strategies that we put on ground.
“The collaboration effort, the synergy that exist between the various security agencies.”
He assured Bayelsans of his commitment in the fight against crime and criminality, adding that alot of strategies are been put in place to ensure that 2023 General Elections in the state is free of violence.
He further called for the cooperation of all and sundry in providing police with useful information on the activities of hoodlums in their neighbourhood, stressing that the police were ready to ensuring that Bayelsa was safe for business and economic activities to thrive.
” I want to use the opportunity to assure citizens, visitors and well wishers of Bayelsa that the state is safe.
“I will not condone criminality here, we will continue to work hard to see that the state is safe for everybody.”
He further congratulated them on behalf of the Inspector General of Police.
Responding on behalf of the newly promoted officers, DSP Ezeogor Endurance expressed appreciation to the Inspector General of Police, the Police Service Commission (PSC) and the Commissioner of Police for considering them worthy of the promotion.
DSP Ezeogor assured that the newly promoted officers would redouble their commitment in the discharge of their constitutional responsibilities.
The promotion was released by the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Usman Alkali Baba, in collaboration with the Police Service Commission (PSC).
The officers promoted to the new ranks were from Inspectors to Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP III), ASP II to ASP I, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and DSP to Superintendent of Police (SP).
The ceremony was attended by members of the command management team, Area Commanders and other Heads of Department.
