Monarch Appoints Aides, Traditional Prime Minister, Chiefs Council Chairman

In his bid to position his reign and strategize for optimal development, the Igbu Orlukwor Kingdom monarch of Ekpeye Ethnic Nationality in Ahoada East Local Government Area, Rivers State, His Royal Highness, Eze Prince Ike Ehie JP, Eze Igbu Orlukwor II, Eze Ehie II, has formally announced the appointment of his aides, Traditional Prime Minister (Nyeso Eze), and Chairman, Council of Traditional Rulers and Chiefs.

Eze Ehie made the announcement during his maiden meeting with the kingdom’s Traditional Rulers and Chiefs Council, titled chiefs and community chiefs Friday, September 20, 2024.

He urged the appointees to be steadfast, focused, united and be people friendly in the discharge of their daily duties.

Justifying the appointments, the king said he would not be able to perform all responsibilities alone, hence the urgent need to appoint round pegs into round holes.

He charged them to serve the public diligently, and enjoined the appointees to key into his open door policy in order to drive the kingdom to greater heights.

Those appointed were; Chief Austine Orlu – Palace Secretary, Oyagiri Chime-emele – Head, Information & Document, Prince Echeyeme Sunday – Special Assistant (SA), High Chief Mathias Ogbugo – Chairman, Orlukwor Traditional Rulers and Chiefs Council and His Royal Highness, Eze Ngozi Otuogwu.

The royal father affirmed the ceding of the former offices held by Ngozi Otuogwu and Austine Orlu as chairman, Eze In-Council and Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Orlukwor Kingdom Traditional Rulers and Chiefs Council respectively.

He advised the chiefs to also prioritize security issues by synergizing with the palace and security agencies, reminded them of his zero tolerance for crime and criminality.

It should be noted that the missing Saviour Ajikwara was supposed to be the Eze’s Personal Assistant.

Speaking on behalf of the chiefs, the council chairman, High Chief Mathias Ogbugo thanked the monarch for his leadership qualities he has exhibited so, assured him of the council’s readiness to work with him in taking the kingdom to greater height.
