Group Deconstructs Desperate And Imaginary Lies Against Alhaji Buba Umaru

by Our Correspondent A Port Harcourt based Non Governmental Organization, Niger Delta Heritage Institute (NDHI) has debunked the linking of Alhaji Buba Umaru to the alleged killing of two persons in Oshiugbokor community in Ahoada East Local Government Area, Rivers State.
The group, in a statement signed by Precious Inatimi,
Chancellor and Nname Okpara, Secretary respectively and made available to media houses in Port Harcourt, Wednesday, September 18, said it only reacted to put the records straight.
The statement read; “In confronting the frabicated tissues of lies concocted by malevolent and debased minds, against the person of Alhaji Buba Umaru, a diligent, compassionate and urbane gentleman, we take solace in the words of late American civil rights activist, Martin Luther king that said that, “Truth when pushed to the ground must surely rise up”.
While the lies being purveyed in a section of the media by pais hirelings of enemies of peace and progress, are laughable and infantile, it must be confronted and detonated, lest the gullible and those who does not know the man in question starts to believe the lie.
“Of course, it is trite knowledge that a lie when repeated often begins to sound like the truth. Therefore, no effort should be spared to not only wrestle an obvious lie to the ground, but also to keep it chained, so that it will not rise up again.
“It is not far fetched that the purveyors of the falsehood against Alhaji Buba Umaru are conflict entreprenures and benefit captors; those whose only source of livelihood is to sow discord, tarnish and blackmail their hapless victims and cause chaos and anarchy. Alhaji Buba Umaru’s position as the Community Laison Head for Aradel Holdings, marks him out for such attacks. By virtue of his position, his goodwill can go along way in facilitating progress and empowerment for the hardworking and diligent. But this is often misunderstood by the crooked and evil minded.
“To have such powers and yet not abuse it or use it to oppress, but rather use it to do good is what befuddles, infantile minds,who would wish that Alhaji Buba Umaru, should hand over all the accruing benefits due the three host communities of Aradel Refinery in Ogbele Community, Ahoada East LGA.
The statement further said that Alhaji Buba Umaru had served the nation meritoriously as a senior Police officer and would not condescend to commit such heinous and debasing act of scoffing life out of humans and expose their families to untold hardship.
The release further stated that; “Alhaji Buba Umaru by his professional training is too disciplined to contemplate aiding or abbetting any one to break the law. He served Nigeria merritoriously as a police officer, during which period he served as Area Commander of Ahoada Command, which comprises of Ahoada East, Ahoada West, Abua/Odual, Emohua, Abonnema, Degema Divisions. He retired honourably without blemish and being very conversant and knowledgeable about the area was appointed on merit by the Niger Delta Petroleum Resources (NDPR) to manage their community relations. He has discharged this responsibility with finesse and good conscience, ensuring that the company and host communities maintain a harmonious, mutually beneficial and sustainable relationship.
“It is of course expected that from time to time, aggrieved and misguided deviants, will throw tantrums and raise dust to attract the attention of the company to satiate their entitlement mentality. But it is rather sad that in the bid to attract Alhaji Buba Umaru’s attention, these depraved minds could concoct such heinous and unconscienable falsehood.
“For record purposes, Alhaji Buba Umaru is not from any of the three host communities of Aradel Refinery and therefore had no stake, interest or motive in any chieftaincy stool. He is equally not interested in whatever factions that may exist or in village Politics. As a trained police officer,he is minded to always ensure that their is orderliness in any environment he finds himself.
“We believe that if actually there exist any criminal breach of peace or unwholesome activities, that the police is the constitutionally mandated institution to investigate it and not dragging people in the mud of a contrived media trial, which goal is to tarnish the image and good name of the targeted individuals.
“We urge the orchestrators of this evil circus to leave Alhaji Buba Umaru alone, as he is too busy to wallow in the mud with them.”
It would be recalled that a community paramount ruler and a family youth leader had been missing since Sunday, September 8, 2024. The duo are natives of Oshiugbokor community in Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State.
