RIVERS: I’ll Prioritize Human Capital Development, Says Igbu Olukwo Kingdom Eze -Elect

The newly elected Eze Igbu Olukwo Kingdom, His Royal Highness, Eze Prince Ike Ehie, JP, Eze Igbu Olukwo II, has declared human capital development as his priority during his reign.
Eze Ehie, who made the declaration while giving his acceptance speech after he was declared winner, on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at Odiabidi Primary School, headquarters of the clan, explained that his choice of human capital development is to make the youths meaningfully engaged in order to curb restiveness.
He assured the people that his reign would have zero tolerance for insecurity and also fashion out modalities to put a stop girl-child abuse, organized prostitution, child trafficking and other societal vices.
The Eze-Elect, while calling for patience, hinted that his reign will witness a boost for small and middle scale businesses, while cultural heritages and artefacts would be harnessed for optimal benefits.
He urged Olukwo sons and daughters to be united and always work as a team to place the clan at its rightful position among the comity of clans, adding that the victory is for the people, especially his co-contestants.
Speaking after the election and declaration of results, one of the contestants, Chief Moji Sampson promised to work with the Eze-Elect as earlier agreed.
He said someone must win in every given contest, promising to avail himself whenever called to serve in any capacity.
Earlier, the Local Government Area Caretaker Chairman, Hon. Happy Bennard, advised that every Olukwo son and daughter should contribute positively to make the business of the day a success.
He warned of dire consequences and avoidable delay in making the kingdom formally recognized, if the election is jeopardized by negative actions.
Also speaking, the Honourable Commissioner for Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, Engr. Charles Amadi, represented by the Director, Chieftaincy Affairs, Steven Abe, called for calm and orderliness in the conduct of the election, saying ; “A little disorderly action will mean a waste of money, time and energy expended in the whole process.”
The commissioner’s representative ,thanked those who initiated the whole process that resulted in the gathering of the people, warning that every delegate had only one voting power.
Other contestants were; High Chief Dr. Ubadinma Ebelogu and Chief Moji Sampson.
