Ahoada East Chairman, O. B. Lulu-Briggs Foundation Give Masses Free Medical Treatment

In order to extend his people orientated projects beyond infrastructural development, the Executive Chairman of Ahoada East Local Government Area, Hon Barr. Ben Eke, has attracted free medical care to his people.
The free medical treatment which will last for five days, formally commenced today, Monday, April 8 – Friday, April 12, attracted patients with one form of illness or the other.
The Council Boss, having his people at heart and understanding the challenging economic situation in the country, keyed into Lulu Briggs Foundation’s slogan of; “Transforming lives and inspiring hope”. No wonder, he made it possible for the free medical treatment through same foundation.
The initial take off hiccups that would have turned hindrance to the programme was quickly surmounted because, while some leaders would orally direct aides and appointees to oversee projects/programmes, Hon Ben Eke directs and follows up physically to make sure set goals are achieved and on time.
His quality of leading by example played itself out and it boasted to the smooth take off of the free medical treatment at the new Ultra Modern Health Centre, Ahoada.
O. B. Lulu-Briggs Foundation over the years is known to be carrying out interventions that have an immediate positive impact on the quality of the lives and livelihoods of those in absolute need.
The core five programmes it undertakes are; care for life for the elderly, free medical missions, education and scholarship, access to clean water and sanitation and micro-credit and entrepreneurship.
The foundation, like the Mayor of Orashi, is not only sensitive to people’s living conditions, but also, look for ways to ameliorate and touch the people’s lives positively.
The Council Boss, on getting to the venue of the free medical treatment, visited a newly born baby and his mother and also two children that had operation. And smiles were put on the parents.
The man with a traditional title of Echie Ekpeye Logbo I, is truly playing out his title, “Ekpeye Light”. Infrastructural wise, he has reconstructed Unoshi street in Ahoada town, Edeoha/Ihuowo road, lit up Ihuowo Community, built staff canteen inside the council secretariat, landscaped the secretariat, with a befitting fence and security gate house. Built and equipped District office and Market Stalls at Ahoada.
Educationally, Hon Barr Ben built UBE office at St. Paus’s State School, Ahoada, provided writing desks to schools in the LGA, built and equipped six classroom block at Ihuowo Community with toilet facilities. Regular payment of bursary to undergraduates of Ahoada East origin.
In the area of sports, he hosts an annual football competition, tagged; ‘Chairman’s Cup’, sports festival where talents are discovered and again, the executive chairman recognizes indigenes that have performed exceptionally well in sports.
He has also empowered hundreds of youths through skills acquisition programmes since inception of his administration.
