A Federal Lawmaker representing Abua/Odual and Ahoada East Local Government areas of Rivers State, Hon Solomon Bob, has disclosed that Ekpeye Ethnic Nation benefitted most from the administration of the former state Governor, Chief Barr. Nyesom Ezeuwo Wike.

The Abua/Odual and Ahoada East representative made the disclosure during the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, LGA first quarter Congress, Monday, April 1, 2024 at Ahoada Town.

He stressed that even those denigrating the FCT Minister were beneficiaries of his political benevolence.

He mentioned the major Omoku/Ahoada road, some internal roads, Rivers State University campus, upgrading and classification of about Six chieftaincy stools to First Class, boosting of political careers of some Ekpeye sons and daughters, amongst others, adding that the most significant road awarded by Wike was the Ozochi road.

While thanking members for the large turnout, Hon Bob urged party members to remain loyal, submissive and obedient to party leaders irrespective of the circumstances, and described as worst when someone bites the finger that fed him.

He posited that most members of the other divide/faction are rogues, murderers, cultists that lack what it takes to lead decently, warning that he would expose their true identity if they continue to insult his principal.

Earlier in his speech, the Local Government Area Executive Chairman, Hon Chief Barr. Ben Eke, declared that he was able to do the much he had done because of his political principal, Nyesom Wike.

Eke described the FCT Minister as a ‘developmental gadfly’ that showed him the roadmap for giving the grassroots dividend of democracy.

The Mayor of Orashi listed Edeoha/Ihuowo 5.4km road, electrification of some streets in Ahoada and Ihuowo Community, renovation schools and provision of writing desks, empowerment, skills acquisition programme, sporting activities, bursary payment, building of LGA District office, landscaping and beautification of the council secretariat, amongst others, as projects he had embarked on.

Other projects include; UBE office at St. Paus’s State School, Ahoada, Staff Canteen at the Council Secretariat, Upata District Office, Edeoha, Market Stalls at Ahoada, Reconstruction of Unoshi Road, Ahoada.

He further hinted plans of his administration to build and equip a Police Post close to the campus of Rivers State University, another at Odiemerenyi/Odiemudie/Ihugbogo junction to stabilize the peace and security in the area.

He enjoined party faithfuls not to be deceived by those who buy membership with money, instead of character and integrity, reminding them of the love exhibited by Wike through his appointments, empowerments and provision of essential services to the people of Ekpeye land.

The Council Boss urged them to always follow who knows the political road that would not lead them astray, adding that since the beginning of the present political dispensation, Wike had not lost any political contest nor battle.

In her contribution, the Honourable member representing Ahoada East Constituency I, Hon. Dame Queen Williams, said Wike is a political father to follow at any time.

She charged party members, especially the females to always remain grateful to the former governor of the state and now FCT Minister for giving women a voice in the polity through his 35% women affirmative, that through Wike, women are council deputy chairmen, 6 state Assembly members and a Senator.

Williams stated that only ingrates like those who have chosen the part of failure and infamy can bite the finger that fed them, vowing that nothing would make her work against the FCT Minister.

Other speakers; Hon High Chief Sir Napoleon Ukalikpe, Chief Effort Aggrey, Hon Dimkpa Harcourt, Comrade Precious Dogini, Hon Prince Alali, Madam Oduokwu charged party members to remain resolute and loyal in following the erstwhile governor.
