RIVERS ASSEMBLY: Speaker Reaffirms Suspension of Some Erring Members, To Set Special Standing Committee

Rt. Hon. Barr. Edison Ogerenye Ehie, the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly has re-affirmed the suspension of some erring members of the 10th State Assembly.
The Speaker, fielding questions from journalists on the current impasse in the House, hinted that efforts are on ground to nail those distracting issues and that the House in addition will set up a Special Standing Committee that will look into the cases of the erring Members and report back to the House with recommendations on the way forward.
He stated that the affected Members will be given opportunities to defend themselves according to the House Rules. He further added that the House will soon resume its full Legislative Business.
Rt. Hon. Ehie extolled the foresight of the Executive Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara for his usual quest to providing dividends of democracy for the people of the State and his determination to take the State’s economy to an enviable height.
