He urged the youths to join the crusade to fight crime and criminality by avoiding the intake of hard drugs, desisting from joining cultism and related vices.

Ibetei applauded the BB for transforming from what the public term it as a social body to now a spiritual force to reckon with, adding that with its Sunday School manual, the organisation is better poised to change the society.

On the complementary roles of parents and the Boys Brigade, he said non has really failed in its responsibilities, stressing that a third party could exact some influence in between that may be the result of the surge in crime and criminality.

Hon Ibetei said the third influential force that ought not to be overlooked is the peer group, noting that this group is always around themselves, talking and doing things together.

While emphasizing that parents alone can not mould a child, he explained that the school, church and society at large have complimentary roles.

The BB Vice President described the Brigade’s campaigns as capital intensive, opining that government and philanthropists could finance and sponsor, while the BB provides the manpower.
