BAYELSA BB AWARD: I’m Challenged To Serve God And Humanity More – Ibetei

Vice President of the Boys Brigade, Bayelsa State Council, Hon. Woyengibuomo Ibetei, has said that the award given to him would spur him to serve God and humanity more than ever.
Hon Ibetei,who stated this while fielding questions from journalists in his office, Thursday, July 21st, said the essence of an award is basically to render more services and not to boastfully rest on one’s oars.
“The essence of an award is to motivate you to do more. To render more services to God and humanity. Is not to go to sleep,” he said.
The Boys Brigade, Bayelsa State Council in partnership with the office of the Mayor, Yenagoa Local Government Area held a campaign against crime and criminality, where an award of Excellence was given to some persons, including Hon Woyengibuomo Ibetei.
The Vice President stressed that the volunteer organization has over the years dutifully executed its objective of moulding the youths by developing their positive traits and imbibing morals into them, in order to make the society a better place for mankind.
He urged the youths to join the crusade to fight crime and criminality by avoiding the intake of hard drugs, desisting from joining cultism and related vices.
Ibetei applauded the BB for transforming from what the public term it as a social body to now a spiritual force to reckon with, adding that with its Sunday School manual, the organisation is better poised to change the society.
On the complementary roles of parents and the Boys Brigade, he said non has really failed in its responsibilities, stressing that a third party could exact some influence in between that may be the result of the surge in crime and criminality.
Hon Ibetei said the third influential force that ought not to be overlooked is the peer group, noting that this group is always around themselves, talking and doing things together.
While emphasizing that parents alone can not mould a child, he explained that the school, church and society at large have complimentary roles.
The BB Vice President described the Brigade’s campaigns as capital intensive, opining that government and philanthropists could finance and sponsor, while the BB provides the manpower.
