BAYELSA: State Police Command Panics As Assistant Commissioner Slumps On Duty

The Bayelsa State Police Command has been thrown into panic mood following the abrupt death of an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP).
Sources at the Police headquarters, Yenagoa disclosed that Asufi slumped and died on his duty post on Tuesday, April 19th.
The deceased, Mr. Emmanuel Asufi hailed from Ekwani community in Delta, according to a source was amiable and an easy going officer who related well with the rank and file.
The source who craved anonymity said; “This life is full of mysteries, this is incredible. Many of us saw him come into the headquarters smiling and exchanging pleasantries with everyone including the rank and file. He is a unifying point between the rank and file.
“Oga Asufi was an exemplary officer who did not spare any effort in putting smiles on the faces of all who came across him, he was very charismatic and forthright and an exemplary christian whose faith reflected in his work.
“But we were shocked when an alarm was raised that he slumped and was dying. They had to rush him to the Federal Medical Centre where he was confirmed dead.”
The Command spokesman (PPRO), SP Asinim Butswat, who confirmed the demise of the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) said it is a sad incident for the command.
Asufi, who until his demise was in charge of administration and a student of the Nigerian Law School, Yenagoa Campus. He had also served as Chief Security Officer (CSO) to the Bayelsa Government House and Commander of the State Security Outfit, Operation Door Akpor.
