INC Organising Secretary
The newly inaugurated Organising Secretary of the Ijaw National Congress (INC), Mr Onengiyeofori Ofenibo, has called for unity amongst the Ijaws.
Fenibo, who made the call while speaking with newsmen after his inauguration as the Organising Secretary of the 8th National Executive Council of the INC at Ijaw House in Yenagoa recently added that the focal point of INC is to unite and redeem the lost love within the Ijaw nation.
He hinted that the new INC exco will promote the establishment of all organs of Congress to ensure its programmes will get to the Clans, Chapters and communities.
“We are going to promote the establishment of all organs of Congress effectively, so that INC matters will not only be decided in Yenagoa but to all nooks and crannies within Ijaw Nation. All clans, chapters and communities will key into INC.
“So, when we say INC, it will not only be coming to Yenagoa but to the grassroots”, he stated.
The Organising Secretary further stated that the exco will work together in order not to let the enemy infiltrate its ranks, since rebuilding the Ijaw Nation is of paramount concern.
Speaking earlier, President of the INC, Professor Benjamin Okaba warned secessionists that no part of the Ijaw Land would be co-opted.
Okaba calls for a true federal system of government and restructuring of the country, stressing that this has been on the top list of demands whenever leaders of Ijaw extraction meet.
Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri, Delta state Deputy Governor, Kingsley Otuaro were among the dignitaries at the event.
