The Olowo of Owo Kingdom, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye lll, has advised Governor Rotimi Akeredolu to continue in his quest to industrialize Ondo State in his second tenure so that employment opportunities would be created for the youths.

Ogunoye made the call in an interview with journalists on the outcome of last Saturday’s Governorship Election in Ondo State.

According to the monarch, what endeared Akeredolu to the people which necessitated the massive support and reelection were his efforts to industrialize the state and the infrastructural development achieved in his first tenure.

“My advice to him is that he should continue in his industrial drive. We now have an industrial hub in Ondo State facilitated by the Governor.
We have nothing less than five running industries. Ondo State had never experienced such before the Governor assumed office in 2016,” Oba Ajibade said.

He noted that the only industry that the State had was put in place by Chief Adekunle Ajasin who was a governor of the State several years ago, since then no other one was established.

The Oba noted that the Governor also achieved a lot in road construction, which has given the State a new lease of life.

Another trait the governor posses which led to his reelection, according to Ogunoye, is his honesty in dealing with the people.

He said, “The tenacity of the Governor is well known across the length and breadth of Ondo State and that really endeared him to the people that massively supported and voted for him.

“Ondo people are wise and exposed, they know when you say the truth.”

The Monarch, who advised other politicians to emulate Akeredolu in being honest, called on the Governor’s opponents to join hands with him to move the State forward.

“My advice to his opponents is that they should support the Governor, so that he can concentrate on his development agenda. They have lost, but there are several opportunities for them in future,” the Oba said.
