RAPE: Rights Activist Advises Women to be Careful of Fake Men Of God

The Secretary, Board of trustees, Center for Basic Rights Protection and Accountability Campaign, Comrade Prince Wiro, has advised women in search of miracles to be careful of false pastors and prophets to avoid being raped.

The NGO, Secretary gave the advice against the backdrop of the increasing rape cases of women raped by supposed pastors.

According to the human rights crusader, the victim who was a serving Corp member claimed to have gone to the house of one of the suspects simply identified as Austin on an invitation and was raped.

Narrating one of the cases to Bochnews, the Mr Wiro stated that two men said to be pastors of a new generation church are currently in detention at the State Criminal Investigation Department, Port Harcourt, Rivers State over allegation of rape.

He said, “The rape survivor disclosed that one of the suspects invited her to his house on the 29th of August 2020, which is his birthday. A friend to the pastor, simply identified as David, also a pastor joined them later. She disclosed that there was no reason to be suspicious since she had been worshipping in the church for 5 months.

“The victim narrated that the last thing she could remember was that the pastors rubbed her a certain oil while praying for her and she slept off.”

According to the human rights activist, the lady who was a virgin said she woke up the next day and noticed bruises in her private part.

He disclosed that the 27 years old victim from Plateau State , said she was asked to sow seed with her mobile phone before the deliverance prayer on her commenced.

Mr Wiro also stated that a medical report he sighted showed that the lady’s hymen was torn and there were also bruises in the vagina.
He said the victim’s parents are insisting on getting justice for their daughter, adding that the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) had waded into the matter and also insisting that the victim gets justice.

In another rape case, the rights activist stated that a married woman had called him that a pastor of a church at Igwurita in Ikwere Local Government Area of Rivers State, raped her during a spiritual cleansing in a guest house and was threatening to kill her if she disclosed the incident to anyone.

Wiro asserted, “The married woman also told me that after the pastor rubbed her a certain oil she was not herself again and obeyed whatever instruction the pastor gave her, including stripping herself naked.”

The rights advocate said though the pastor admitted carrying out the act and pleaded for forgiveness, the woman’s husband had decided to leave the matter.

Wiro advised women, “If you are good for special deliverance, if you are married, go with your husband if the pastor is a man. If you are single you can go with a relative.
Do not agree to hold prayer, deliverance or spiritual cleansing with a male pastor or prophet in a hotel room or his room”.
