Benue Governor vows to jail Fulani Herdsmen

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, has said he would jail in Fulani herdsman establishes vigilante group in the state.

A statement made available to newsmen on Friday by the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the governor, Terver Akase, Ortom, warned the group not to come to his state.
The governor stated that the motive of the Fulani herdsmen was to carry their heinous activities to another level.

Ortom said, “No Fulani group will come to Benue State where I am the governor, you people know that it is a lie, they can not come. No room for them to establish vigilante group in whatever kind, when I confronted them they said they would not use the vigilante group of Nigeria. That one will not operate here.

“So, no single vigilante group of Miyeitti Allah will come to Benue State to make any noise here. For us in Benue State, we believe in the rule of law and we will jail them.
Miyeitti Allah Kauta Hore, had disclosed that their group is embedded in Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN) and vowed to establish vigilante groups in all states of the federation to combat insecurity.
