Delta Speaker Advises Christians to be Involved in Selecting Leaders
2 min readThe Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, has advised christians to be involved in electoral processes which produce leaders in the country.
The speaker, who was speaking at a lecture organized by Christ Embassy, Asaba to mark the “Reach out Nigeria 2020, said the involvement of christians in deciding who occupies elective positions would result to choosing perfect leaders that would lead the people aright.
He said, ” Permit me to also make a clarion call on the Church in particular and christians in general to be involved in the electoral and governance processes in deciding who occupies elective and appointive positions to drive at perfection levels.”
Rt Hon Oborevwori, who was the chairman of the occasion, prayed that the collective efforts of the people would make a difference in the society.
Commenting the topic of the lecture, “Nigeria Perfection is Possible” the Speaker noted that it was timely, and expressed optimism that the programme would renew the minds of the congregation to bring about a triumph over imperfection.
Rt Hon Oborevwori, also said, “We,as a people have passed legislation that have provided a veritable platform for His Excellency , Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, who is a worthy ambassador of the Church to deliver projects across board in our state. I therefore implore the church to be involved in providing perfect leadership.”
He equally thanked Christ Embassy for providing an alternative platform for people to contribute to Nigeria’s narrative.
The programme was to commemorate Nigeria’s 60th independence anniversary.
