Police to Enforce Law on Number Plates in Bayelsa, Rivers
1 min readYENAGOA: Zone 16 of the Nigerian Police, situated in Bayelsa State, has stated that it would soon enforce the law on fake vehicles number plates in the zone.
The offences include, indiscriminate use of unregistered vehicles, vehicles without number plates, vehicles with covered, defaced or fake number plates
The zonal command warned perpetrators of such acts to desist or face prosecution.
The Assistant Inspector- General (AIG) in charge of the command, Austin Agbonlahor, in a statement through the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the zone, Ikwo Kevin Lafieghe (SP), said that the police commands of Rivers and Bayelsa states would henceforth strictly enforce the order on the use of covered plate at their various command through strategised operation, arrest and diligent prosecution of offenders.
The AIG said, driving of such vehicles was a clear breach of the Road Traffic Act and other relevants law of the land.
