IMIRINGI TURBINE: Bayelsa Gov’t. Debunks Sale’s Tale
1 min readThe Bayelsa State Government has debunked the story on the purported sale of the Imiringi Gas Turbine .
This came on the heels of stories making the rounds in the media that the gas turbine at Imiringi community in Ogbia Local Government Area has been sold.
The Director of the Bayelsa State Electricity Board, Engr. Olise Kemenanabo ,said rather, the government wants to rehabilitate it for optimal efficiency, so that power could be restored in the area before the end of this year.
He made the explanation during a stakeholders meeting initiated by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Chief Benson Agadaga, which includes Chiefs and youths of Imiringi Community, management of Bayelsa Electricity Board, representatives of Ogbia Brotherhood, rep. of King Owaba, youth wing of Ogbia Brotherhood and Commissioner for Power and Water Resources.
Kemenanabo blamed the rumour that ignited the protest on lack of proper information, adding that there is absolutely no reason for worries.
He vowed that the government of Senator Douye Diri is committed to ensuring steady power to the area.
The Chief of Staff, who initiated the meeting, thanked all the stakeholders for their understanding and assured them that the repair work was in the best interest of the State.
