Igbu Orlukwor O’ Group Kingdom Royal Father, His Royal Highness, Eze Prince Ike Ehie, JP, Eze Ehie II, has congratulated the Ahoada East and West Local Government Areas Chairmen elect, Hon. Chibudho Ezu and Hon. Iyekor Ikporo, their deputies, Hon. Ununuma Bidemi Odoi, Ayonuadu Onisojikume and all the councillors, for their victories in the just concluded LG polls in the state.

Igbu Orlukwor O’ Group Kingdom is in Ekpeye Ethnic Nation of Ahoada East Local Government Area, Rivers State, Nigeria.

The royal father, who chatted with some journalists on Sunday, October 6, 2024 in his liaison office, Ahoada, described the process before, during and after their election as calm, peaceful and stable, challenging them to reciprocate by bringing lasting security to the various hinterland communities and not concentrate development in the urban areas alone.

In a statement signed by the Head, Information & Documentation Section of the Palace, Oyagiri Chime-emele, charged winners to see their victory as a victory for the people, an avenue to serve humanity and not as a sole opportunity for self aggrandizement at the expense of the populace.

The statement said the monarch equally applauded Governor Siminalayi Fubara for his doggedness in ensuring that the election was conducted in the face of intimidation, and also releasing the funds required for a hitch free process, even when his party, the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, boycotted the election.

Eze Ehie praised the resilience and determination shown by the state electoral umpire, Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission, RSIEC, to deliver on its mandate of conducting a peaceful, free and fair election that has ushered in a new crop of local government elected officers.

He invited INEC to come over to the State to under study RSIEC, and asserted that it has become a case of what Napoleon cannot do, has been done by RSIEC.

Eze Ehie also advised the losers of the election to join hands with the winners and work for the development of the state.
The monarch also gave kudos to the electorate for their orderliness and peaceful conduct during the entire process, even in the face of seeming provocations.

He urged them to continue to pray and support the elected officers at all times because the tasks before them are enormous and challenging.

The Orlukwor monarch enjoined the Chief of Staff, CoS to the state Governor, Rt. Hon. Edison Ehie, to work with the elected LGA officers to ensure the growth and development of the local government, irrespective of the party differences.

He thanked him for his selflessness by working to make the election possible at the LGA .
