EDE UPATA CORONATION: Ekpeye Supreme Monarch Calls For Synergy Amongst Traditional Rulers

The Ekpeye supreme monarch, His Imperial Majesty, Eze Amb. Kelvin Anugwo, Ph.D, Eze Ekpeye Logbo III , has called for synergy between traditional rulers in Ekpeye ethnic nation in order to engender development.

The monarch, who was represented by His Royal Highness, Eze Ike Ehie, JP, Eze-Elect of Igbu Orlukwor kingdom, during the coronation of the new Nye-udu Ede Upata; HRH Eze Osco Ochoma., Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at Ula Upata community in Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State, Nigeria, stated that it is only a conscious unity of purpose of the traditional rulers that will attract the needed development that will better Ekpeye ethnic nation.

Eze Ehie highlighted the need for love, tolerance, and togetherness that would create a community that would be a bastion of pride to the people, noting that Ekpeye Ethnic Nation more than ever, is in dire need of it.

The Eze-Elect of Igbu-Orlukwor O’ Group kingdom urged the people of Ekpeye to always see and work towards the growth, development, and promotion of Ekpeye at all times, ‘this is a duty we owe our progenitors and we must fulfil it’, according to him.

He admonished the people of Ede Upata to work hand-in-glove with their new king, stressing that Kings are given by God for leadership and direction.

Concluding, he said; “I implore Eze Osco Ochoma to continue with his great traits that edged him out for this esteemed honour and position. This would be a new dawn for the good people of Ede Upata and Ekpeye in general.

“Eze Osco Ochoma had been a paramount ruler for quite some time, serving his people meritoriously with good leadership in Ihuike Community of Ede Upata clan of Upata Kingdom. His elevation is only a call to higher service and to continue with his good works in the land.

“I pray that it should be well with him reign and I believe that Ekpeye Nationality would soon take her rightful seat in the comity of Ethnic Nations in the State and beyond”.

The event marks the first official public appearance after his victory at the poll to emerge Eze Igbu-Orlukwor II, HRH, Eze Ike Ehie.

Highlights of the event were traditional dances and well attendance/representation of traditional leaders of various communities under Ede Upata.
