RIVERS SECURITY: Ahoada East Chairman Boosts Security With a Sienna Vehicle

by Odoko Victoria The fight against insecurity received a boost on the 24th of November, 2023 as the Executive Chairman of Ahoada East Local Government Area, Barr. Ben Israel Eke donated a Sienna vehicle to the Ahoada East Division of the Nigeria Police.
While presenting the keys of the vehicle to the Area Commander, ACP Aminu Mohammed, Barr Eke said that the car gift would encourage the division in its efforts to fight crime and criminality within the LGA.
He commended the Police Division for its robust working relationship since assumption of office in 2018.
The LGA Boss charged the police to put more efforts in mapping out operational strategy to apprehend the minute remnants of 2Baba cult group before the yuletide.
In his words: “I enjoy a robust relationship with the Divisional Police Command since assumption of duty as the Executive chairman of Ahoada East Local Government Area. The police have been very supportive. Though, at some point, there are instances of infraction. But, I give it to them generally.
“Most recently, we are aware of the killings, the efforts of police to take charge of the situation spurred me to gift it the vehicle.
“Am one chairman that stays within his jurisdiction, so I tried my best to assist and encourage the security agencies, especially the Police.
“I know that since the killing of SP Bako Agbashim, a lot of arrests have been made. So, I promised to get a Sienna cab for the police.
“I know that encouraging the police would assist in curbing the crime and bring criminality into its barest minimum within the LGA and especially Ahoada metropolis.”
Responding, the Ahoada Police Area Commander, ACP Aminu Mohammed, thanked the LGA Chairman for his maximal support in providing logistics for the Division, assuring that the encouragement would boost the morale of his officers and men.
He promised that the Division would always try to bring down crime and criminality to its barest minimum in the LGA and provide adequate security for the coming Christmas season.
“The executive chairman is a man of his words. He said it bigger and has done it today. This is not the only thing he has done for us, we thank him very much.
“We want to urge him to do more, even as he has been doing.
Also speaking, the Divisional Police Officer, SP Adewale Nureni thanked the chairman for fulfilling his promise of providing an operational vehicle for the Division, called on the chairman to look at other areas he can assist the division.
The DPO, who was elated on the vehicle gift assured the chairman of judicious use of the vehicle to combat crime and criminality in the LGA, promised that 2Baba saga would be a thing of the past soon.
He called on well meaning indigenes and residents to see security as a thing for everybody, positing that valuable information be provided for the division to do its job effectively.
“The Ahoada East LGA chairman is a ‘talk and do’ chairman. He promised the division an operational vehicle to add to our fleet of cars.
“As the Divisional Police Officer, am promising the people that the vehicle will be well utilized. Though, we are expecting more support, but with what we are seeing, we truly appreciate. We are going to use it as it supposed to be used,” SP Adewale Nureni.
