NAGALIEM FOUNDATION is one NGO that is uniquely different and in a class of its own, unlike the others that dot our landscape today, whose penchant is what the CEO/Director gets at the end of the day. Nagaliem Foundation thinks only of putting smile on the faces of the poor, brokenhearted, sick and desolate folks.
The foundation specializes in giving succour to orphans, widows and the sick by showering love through their transformation.
As expressed by its mission statement; “Expressing love and transforming lives of widows, orphans and sick amongst us.”
The foundation has transversed the hinterlands, doing what it knows best to do within the Orashi region and beyond, putting smile on the people’s faces.
Its vision statement elaborately captured the essence of its existence; “We aim to create a life changing impact in the lives of widows, orphans and sick people amongst the people, thereby making their lives more purposeful and joyful.
The foundation’s head and President, Mrs. Umanu Onyiri hails from Ekpeye Ethnic Nation in Ahoada East Local Government Area and married to Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area, both of Rivers State and has really put smiles on the faces of people, giving them the life reviving hope they needed.
Another unique part of the foundation, is that it sources its funding through personal contributions of members of the team. Though, individual assistance do come, but rarely.
This selfless sacrifice to the society is borne out of passion, conviction and love to provide succor for mankind and not for inordinate love for personal aggrandizement and crass materialism.
Though, knowing the time, the foundation will accept donations from individuals, corporate citizens and groups to enable it expand the present scope, which according to the Team Head; “Is too minute to be jubilant about.”
Her message, as always is; “Changing the society is a collective efforts. Little contributions from everyone will make the needed difference.”
