EFCC PARADES SUSPECTED INTERNET FRAUDSTERS
1 min readThe Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested 5 internet fraudsters popularly called Yahoo boys in port Harcourt over an alleged $115 million Dollars scam since they began their operation.
The suspected fraudsters where arrested in their residence in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital by the State command okay. The suspects, names withheld are said to be involved in dating scam bearing false national identities, as one is said to have claimed to an engineer from Ukraine with a photo of a white engineer on Instagram and Facebook to attract his victims while the others use Doctors, Pilots and other prominent careers to entice their victims and defraud them.
Items recovered from the suspects are one iPhone 11 promax, Techno phones, Infinix phones, Apple Laptops, 3 cars and other prominent expensive gadget.
The suspects have been detained in the River State Command of EFCC awaiting their trial by the River State High court.
Responding to questions by newsmen on the matter, the Rivers State EFCC spokesman said they will do all things to stop cyber crime in Nigeria and that the government is working to improve the living standard of the youths across the country by empowering them in various legal skills and trades.
He advised the youth to abstain from cyber crime or crime of any kind.
