My Father Brought Christianity To Idanre Kingdom – Oba Aroloye

Most traditional rulers are seen to be fetish due to customary requirements, while others like the Owa of Idanre Kingdom in Idanre Local Government Area of Ondo State, His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr) Frederick Adegunle Aroloye, Arubiefin lV, are fervent christians whose faith in God is manifest in all he does.
Oba Aroloye, who revealed that his father brought christianity to his kingdom in 1886, urged his people, especially the governor- elect to put God first in their doings.
He advised that only God can bring about positive changes through making the impossible possible.
He further urged politicians to exhibit the fear of God in governance, since according to him; “Only God Almighty gives position. So, He should be respected and reverenced.”
The nonagenarian during the media chat in his palace, opined that a revert to parliamentary system of government would bring quicker development in the various regions in Nigeria.
He recalled that each region was developing at its pace according to its available natural resources under the parliamentary system of government.
“Parliamentary system of government is the best. It brought quicker development. Each region was developing at its pace, according to its natural resources.
“Regions were relating with foreign governments. The traditional Institutions had a say in governance, unlike now. That was how my grand father, being a treaty traditional ruler gave the Queen of England gift of elephant tusk,” the Oba revealed.
