RIVERS POLITICS: Owerri Court Restrains PDP Zonal, State, LGA, Ward Excos from Parading

The present fate of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State may extend to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as a case instituted by some members of the party against the emergence of the State party leadership gains momentum.

The case which was instituted on Monday, October 5, 2020, at A federal high court sitting in Owerri granted a restraining order stopping the State PDP Chairman, Desmond Akawor and his executive from parading themselves as the party executive from today onwards.

The plaintiffs who Instituted the case were; Nnah Nyemezu, Nduka Precious Edder, Mike Jaja S., Gift Amadi, Igwebu Rike Mbah, Ideh Ukarioniso Prosper, Andy Umetor, against the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), INEC and Ambassador Desmond Akawor as defendants.

The judge, Hon. Justice T. G. Ringim granted an interim injunction restraining the 3rd defendants that emerged from the purported PDP Rivers State Congress from parading themselves as executives of the party in Rivers State

After hearing, S. T. Solomon Esq for the plaintiff moved the motion paper with special interest on 1st and last order prayed.
