The Orlukwor Kingdom Royal Father, His Royal Highness, Eze Prince Ike Ehie JP, Eze Igbu Orlukwor II, Eze Ehie II, has charged parents to imbibe good morals on their children.
Eze Ehie gave the charge in his message to mark this year’s World Children’s Day Celebration, accused parents of lack of contentment, firmness and lackadaisical attitude towards their children acts, hence the societal decadence witnessed today.
In a press statement signed by his Head, Information and Documentation, Oyagiri Chime-emele and made available to media houses, Eze Ehie posited that it is possible to revive the society and make it a better place for habitation.
He hinted that crass for quick wealth, unhealthy competition amongst parents and the total jettison of cultural norms and values are some of the issues creating challenges for the society.
“It is very possible to rebuild the society. Parents hold the key to achieve that feat, not school teachers nor society itself as adduced by some persons.
“Every learning process begins with the parents and ends with them each day. As long as parents continue not to be contented with their possession, so the children will not learn to be. Parents that lack disciplinary acumen will produce wayward children. While those that are lackadaisical, will churn out disrespectful and irresponsible children to the society.
“As parents, we must be proud of dividends of our labour. We must shun unhealthy competition and always ask to know what our children do at all times. Crass for quick wealth must be discouraged. Dignity in labour must be encouraged and supported.”
He urged children to always be respectful, responsible and shun social vices for their days on earth to be peaceful and long, as admonished by the Holy Bible.
The royal father wishes Igbu Orlukwor, Ekpeye and Rivers State children a happy and healthy 2025 children’s day celebration, on behalf of his family and kingdom.
