The Eze Igbu Orlukwor II, Eze Prince Ike Ehie JP, Eze Ehie II, has sent his sympathy to the Military High Command, Government and the victims of last Monday shooting of some soldiers on pipeline surveillance guard duty.
The incident which according to a press statement issued by the monarch through his Head, Information and Documentation, Oyagiri Chime-emele occurred in Okporowo Community in Igbu Orlukwor of Ahoada East Local Government Area, which the monarch
strongly condemned, especially as the soldiers were on lawful duties.
The press release further stated that the Eze described as an affront and insult on constituted authorities for civilians under any guise to shoot at military officers on their constitutional assigned responsibilities.
He called on the government to fish out the perpetrators, while urged security agencies to exhibit utmost professionalism and avoid the suffering of innocent sons and daughters of Orlukwor Kingdom, being a peaceful and hospitable kingdom.
According to the statement: “The Orlukwor Royal Father promised that his kingdom would work in synergy with the security agencies to put an end to the illegal proliferation of arms amongst the youths.
“He warned that henceforth, every community paramount ruler should protect public interest and avoid security breaches by miscreants that would compromise the kingdom’s security, or otherwise face dire consequences, including outright removal.”
The Royal Father prayed that God in His infinite mercy lay His healing hands on the injured for quick and outright recovery.
