Some community youth leaders in Igbu Orlukwor Kingdom of Ekpeye Ethnic Nation, in Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State have charged security agencies to beam their Investigative search lights on those mentioned by the arrested persons and not on Aradel Holdings Plc and its staff.
The youth leaders who hail from different communities, in a petition dated Monday, September 30th and signed by them was addressed to the Director General of the Department of Security Services, DSS, Abuja and made available to journalists, was titled; “Re: Illegal Bunkering, Pipeline Vandalism, Terrorism, Kidnapping Activities Of Alhaji Buba Umaru, Moji Frank Sampson And Emeka Kingsley Sampson And Junior Prince Nsirim At Aradel Refinery At Ogbele Community In Ahoada East LGA Of Rivers State.”
It stated that; “Sequel to the title above, as written by a group that goes by the name; Rivers Coalition for Human Rights.
“Our attention has been drawn to the above titled fallacy and lies from the pit of hell, which we would have ordinarily ignored but for the sake of gullible members of the public and believing that lies if left uncorrected may be seen as truth some day.
“While, we totally condemn the unceremonious missing of the paramount ruler and the promising youth, both of Oshiugbokor community, we pray that; ‘let the housefly that perches on a leg, not be killed on another leg’.
“Odinarily, we do not have the right to dabble into a community’s internal matters, except when invited as demanded by our custom and tradition, we make bold to categorically state the followings.
“Alhaji Umaru Buba has been redeployed to Security Department as a Consultant over a year ago.
“Aradel Holdings Plc, formerly Niger Delta Petroleum Resources has never recorded any incident of a vandalized pipeline. So, from whence would the alleged bunkering take place.
“Alhaji Umaru Buba’s offices, either the previous or present requires working and relating directly with indigenes of the host communities.
“Based on the above assertions, how will such relationship with some persons in Oshiugbokor be seen with negative light. It might interest you to note Sir, that over the years of operation of Aradel Holdings Plc in the area, relationships have evolved that much blessings could be counted.
“How the reign of the said ‘General Junior ‘, began is a common story that every Tom, Dick and Harry that cares to know can narrate in the locality. The story has never either directly or otherwise linked his emergence to any company(ies).
“It has no link to the company nor its staff. So, how does gun running be linked to Aradel Holdings Plc and its staff. Who supplys to other Generals in the area and niger delta region?
“We liken this accusations/allegations against Alhaji Umaru Buba to, “giving a dog a bad name in order to kill it.”
“The childish, wild and unfounded allegations against Alhaji Umaru Buba can obviously be seen in the concluding paragraph of the petitioners, whereby it claimed that Alhaji Umaru Buba would bribe, blackmail and intimidate the management and board members of the company.
“We ask, ‘can an okro plant be taller than the owner that its fruit can not be plucked for cooking?’ Obviously, the answer is a capital NO.
“Alhaji Umaru Buba has been instrumental for the empowerment and lifting from grass to grace of some youths in the host communities and more are also looking unto his magnanimity and benevolence to benefit.
“In as much as we do not intend to scuttle security agencies’ investigation, nor wish to exonerate anyone found culpable to the heinous crime, our intention is ONLY to state the obvious and straighten the records against the tissues of lies being peddled.
“Once again, we pray that no stone should be left unturned to unravel and bring to book those responsible for the missing persons.”
The youth leaders that signed the petition were; Comrade Progress Otuogwu, Okoma I Youth President, Comrade Uzhiyeka Ojigini, Okoma II Youth President and Comrade Ukagbewe R. Egbe, Obumeze Youth President.
Others were; Comrade Akpasougwu, Ozochi Youth President, Comrade Salvation Naboth, Odiabidi Youth President, Comrade Sunday Captain Uba, Ogbele Vice President, Comrade Rogers Owuzechi, Okporowo former Youth President, Comrade Abraham Jonathan, Ochigba Youth President and Hon. Comrade Chima Enyi, Igbu Orlukwor Youth President.
The petition also acknowledged the efforts the Igbu Orlukwor King has made through charges to the youths and community paramount rulers to always report every suspicious movements and work in synergy with the security agencies to unravel the mystery behind the missing persons.
The petitioners urged the security authorities to leave no stone unturned in order to bring those culpable to book.
