Some concerned chiefs of Igbu Orlukwor Kingdom of Ekpeye Ethnic Nationality in Ahoada East Local Government Area, Rivers State has condemned in strong terms the accusation against Alhaji Umaru Buba, a staff of Aradel Holdings Plc, of being behind the missing persons in Oshiugbokor community.

In a chat with some selected media houses at Ahoada Town, Saturday, September 21, 2024, the leader of the concerned chiefs, High Chief Samuel Mac-Umesi, described the situation at Oshiugbokor community as unfortunate, avoidable and a crass show of crude desperation for power.

Chief Mac-Umesi, who likened the situation to throwing a away assumed dirty water with the baby, added that nothing sought for in life is worth taking a life.

He said Alhaji Umaru Buba, had been the instrument God used in empowering the youths of the three host communities of Aradel Holdings Plc in Ekpeye land, and faulted why such benevolent man would be involved a solely intra communal issue.

Chief Mac-Umesi, who said he’s a Special Assistant, SA on Corporate Affairs to the Regent of Orlukwor Kingdom , explained that Oshiugbokor community debacle is a long time issue that predates the coming to the area of Aradel Holdings Plc, which according to him, ‘records death most times’.

In his words: “The name of Alhaji Umaru Buba should not be dragged to the mud. He can not condescend so low to take or even send someone to take human life.

“What does he stand to gain? He is not an indigene nor does anyone stop the company’s operations, that would have ordinarily concerned him to step in on how to resolve it.

“Most empowered youths in the three communities that host Aradel Holdings Plc are through the instrumentality of Alhaji Umaru Buba. He is a father figure and a model to people that have come across him, as a refined gentleman.”

The chief advised that as a stakeholder in Igbu Orlukwor Kingdom, a native of Ogbele Community, the security agencies should instead beam their Investigative search lights on Oshiugbokor community especially than Aradel Holdings Plc and its staff.

He called on members of the public to oblige the security agencies useful information to enable them demystify the mystery behind the missing persons, and thanked the proactive efforts of the Eze Igbu Orlukwor II on making sure no stone is left unturned to get to the root of the matter.

It would be recalled that two prominent sons of Oshiugbokor community have been missing since Sunday, September 8, 2024 in suspected mysterious circumstances.
