Igbu Orlukwor Kingdom Coronates King . . . King Promises To Prioritize Security, Youth Empowerment

The people of Igbu Orlukwor O’ Group Kingdom, in Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State, Nigeria, have coronated its second king amidst funfare and merriment.
The coronation ceremony took place early hours of Thursday, September 5, 2024, at Okoma I community, the ancestral home of the people and later, a brief reception at Odiabidi Community, the administrative headquarters.
Addressing his people after the coronation, His Royal Highness, Eze Ike Ehie JP, Eze Igbu Orlukwor II, assured the people of having zero tolerance for insecurity, adding that the kingdom would be a safe haven for everyone, whether natives, residents or corporate organizations operating in the area.
Eze Ehie assured the youths of starting an aggressive skill empowerment scheme that is aimed at repositioning the youths for self reliance.
He explained that his choice to focus on the youths is anchored on the ancient analogy that youths are leaders of tomorrow and to also curb the menace of insecurity, and insisted that only youth based development can engender the change of the narrative.
He urged the people to remain strong, united, peaceful and focused in order to achieve the aim of the founding fathers of the kingdom and to take the kingdom to an enviable height in the comity of kingdoms.
Eze Ehie thanked the state governor, His Excellency, Siminalayi Fubura for his appointment of illustrious sons of the kingdom into positions of trust, and assured him of the total support of his people at all times.
The monarch appealed to the governor to also assist in bringing infrastructural developments to the area, among the areas he mentioned were; road, renovation of primary schools.
Earlier, the President General of Uzugbani Orlukwor Kingdom, Dr. Arch. Chris Enwudor, enjoined the people to continue to give their support to the new King.
In his speech, a former contestant to the throne, Engr. Moji Sampson, said his presence at the event was to fulfill the earlier agreement reached before the election that ‘anyone that emerges among them should be supported ‘.
He pledged his loyalty to the new King and assured to continue to make himself available whenever his services are needed, as he had done in the past.
Engr. Sampson called on the people to continue their support for the king in any form required, to make the kingdom unique and a bastion of hope.
Also speaking to journalists, the Igbu Orlukwor Kingdom Queen, Her Royal Highness, Nancy Ike Ehie JP, Unuwhe Dadhu Eze Orlukwor expressed her readiness to change the narrative of the girl-child and womanhood through empowerment programmes.
She appealed to fellow mothers to start the process of making their children return home from the forests.
Unuwhe Wheshi Eze Orlukwor promised to embark on sensitization campaign to reorient women and the girl child on the need for self development.
It would be noted that Eze John Wilson of blessed memory was the first king of the kingdom.
