COASUG Membership Will Engender Women Relevance, Enlightenment In Politics, Says C/R Woman Leader

by Pearl HaroldThe Cross River State Women Leader of the Consolidated APC Support Groups, COASUG, Dr Obia Eniang Esien, has called on women to join the group as membership will give them more political relevance and exposure in the polity.
Esien made the statement on Sunday, April 14, 2024, at Calabar, in an exclusive interview with BochNews after an emergency meeting with women executives, hinting that other benefits accrueable are political education and know how to choose a right candidate during election.
She explained that the group is gender friendly, as it gives the women a sense of belonging through participation in decision making process and achievement of organizational goals.
Esien explained that; “The party women of Cross River State would get political education on the importance of belonging to a political party and having a voter’s card.
“They will be involved in choosing the right candidate to run the affairs of Federal, State and Local Governance as dictated by COASUG.
“They will have a sense of belonging and oneness, as they are part of decision making process regarding the activities of COASUG and achievements of organizational goals.
“They are to be a part of project implementation, projects that will improve their livelihood.
“They will benefit from all empowerment programmes,
appointments at all levels, job opportunities and political recognition.”
The Cross River State Woman Leader enjoined women, especially, to join the group in order to be politically groomed, insisting that the group is gender friendly having given women opportunity to lead in strategic management positions.
Esien, who sees intra party crisis as part of political development, opined that dialogue should be applied, since humans do agree to disagree and vice versa.
Her words; “Crises has become part of political developments, I suggest that wherever there is an intra party crisis, dialogue should be employed as the best element to use in conflict resolutions. As humans we agree to disagree and vice versa.
She urged Cross River State Women who are members of the group to be committed, selfless and ready to sacrifice for increased productivity.
“Great Cross River state women, COASUG has come to stay, let us give our full support to the leadership of this great group by being dedicated, selfless and ready to sacrifice for increase productivity which is carrying the activities of COASUG to a greater heights”
