by Oyagiri Chime-emeleThe SLA to the Speaker, Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Cecilia Ogbeche -Odok, has described the honourable Minister for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr. Betta Edu as an icon of reward for hard work.
Ogbeche -Odok, who made the statement in a press release signed by herself, Saturday, October 16, further described the minister as the youngest, most vibrant, down to earth, energetic and humanitarian at heart, added that her forthrightness, empathy, cordiality, philanthropy informed her appointment to bring renewed hope to the people, especially the poor.
The release titled: ‘Thank you my Boss, Dr Betta Edu for finding me worthy to recommend me to work with Rt Hon Tajudeen Abass, Speaker House of Representatives as SLA Humanitarian and Poverty Alleviation”, reads’; “Words alone can’t express my unalloyed loyalty and appreciation to my Boss, the Queen Mother, the icon of reward for hard work, the youngest Minister Federal Republic of Nigeria, most vibrant, most down to earth, most energetic and humanitarian at heart.
“In Dr Betta is forthrightness, empathy, cordiality, compassion, philanthropy, altruism, generosity and indeed a social reformer and change agent chosen by President Tinubu to bring Renewed Hope to Nigerians especially the poor.
“My journey working with Dr Betta as National Woman Leader just began with a call, come and work with me there is plenty work to do. This trust was very unusual and never to be taken for granted. At this point all I could think of was how best I could reciprocate her kind gesture. The best I thought of doing showed itself in my dedication, loyalty, and commitment to my work.”
The SLA eulogized her husband and children for being there, encouraging and notching her. “I appreciate you for always believing in me and standing by me. Thanks for giving me free hand and the trust in all I do.
“I am appreciative of my siblings for grooming me to who I am today. You are an important part of my journey so far.”
She hinted that all of Dr Betta aides that worked with her directly and ended with her as the APC National Woman Leader, she has placed them in strategic positions either directly in the Ministry for Humanitarian and Poverty Alleviation or in the National Assembly.
She posited that such extra effort tells a tale of her political strength, keeping relationship with subjects and pushing them higher to greater heights, a virtue most politicians lack, according to her.
“Dr Betta remains the mirror of how politics of reward for hard work should be played to encourage not only loyalty but professionalism
“I sincerely thank Dr Betta for exposing me to great people. I can’t thank the quintessential amazon and doyen of humanitarian and poverty alleviation without mentioning our great women I met in the course of our work in the APC Secretariat.
“Dr Betta groomed me by requesting I be added to all women’s groups. This was a great opportunity to be exposed to the world. Being exposed to different women, maintaining cordiality, learning and unlearning, while keeping our eyes on the balls has brought us so far and has lots in stock for us in future.
“Great women, the victory we share today is indeed your victory too. We pray for greater opportunity to keep lifting each other. I sincerely appreciate you all our wonderful women. Thanks for your love and the wonderful memories we both share as we pray it continues. Tomorrow is far larger than today, my yesterday is part of my tomorrow and my hands are open for stronger ties as an umbrella for Team Betta in days ahead. Thank you all.”
The SLA charged Nigerians to support the renewed hope agenda of President Tinubu in other to succeed in pulling out most Nigerians from poverty.
“The task ahead is great, delivering on our ‘Renewed Hope’ Mantra is challenging more and more with increasing global and National humanitarian crisis, let’s all rally around the President and our charismatic Queen Mother, Dr Betta to make it happen and create the needed difference.
“Our continued solidarity as one family under Team Betta hold so much for us as we look forward to further expansion for future politics,” it reads.
