Police Zone 16 Gets New AIG . . . Calls For Co- operation, Support

by Oyagiri Chime-emeleA new Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Police, AIG Eboka Friday, has assumed duty at the Nigeria Police Force Zonal Command, Zone 16, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
In a Press Release signed by the Zonal Police Public Relation Officer (ZPPRO), CSP Ikwo Kevin Lafieghe, Anipr, stated that his resumption of duty followed the retirement of the former AIG, Ayim Abraham Egong.
According to the release; “This is to inform the public the retirement of AIG Ayim Abraham Egong from active service of the Nigeria Police Force,. The Inspector General of Police, IGP Alkali Baba Usman, psc(+),NPM, fdc, CFR, has appointed AIG Eboka Friday, psc, as the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of the Zone.”
The release further stated that the new Zonal Police Chief has served in different professional capacities, with corresponding educational qualifications.
“AIG Eboka Friday is a graduate of Political Science from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
“He was commissioned into the Nigeria Police Force as an Assistant Superintendent of Police (Cadet) in March 1988 and subsequently served in different strata of the Force Viz: Divisional Police Officer in several Divisions across the Country.

Eboka, who is described by the statement as a dogged crime fighter and officer par excellence, is the immediate past Commissioner of Police, Rivers State Command.
It urges the public, especially the States under the Zonal Command to give the AIG the needed co-operation and support for maximal performance.
AIG Eboka Friday is a native of Agbor community in Ika South Local Govt of Delta State. He is happily married.
It would be recalled that AIG Eboka Friday’s predecessor, AIG Ayim Abraham Egong (Rtd) meritoriously retired from active service earlier this month (October).
