Police Detain Officer Accused Of Rape, Blackmail Of Minor

by Our Correspondent An Inspector of Police who was accused by a 17 year old girl (surname withheld) of taking her nude pictures and rape around Ozuoba axis of Port Harcourt has been detained by the Rivers State Police Command.
The officer, Inspector Salihu Kazeem who was detained Wednesday, August 31, on the orders of the Rivers State Commissioner of Police,CP Eboka Friday, is said to be serving in Bayelsa state Command.
Our correspondent who was at the Police headquarters on Wednesday reports that CP Eboka directed that the Police Officer be detained after hearing from the alleged rape victim and Inspector Kazeem while Investigation into the case continues.
CP Eboka also directed that certain persons mentioned in the statement of the alleged victim and Inspector Kazeem should be invited to give voluntary statement.
Meanwhile the alleged rape victim and the accused Police Officer have written their statements at the human rights desk at Police headquarters, Moscow road.
Recall that the Minor had alleged that Inspector Kazeem stripped her and the friend naked, took their nude video and raped them while using the nude video to constantly blackmail her and the friend after accusing them of stealing his Five Hundred Thousand Naira (N500,000.00).
The Police Officer had in an interview with Journalists accused the girls of stealing the money from his account after he gave them his ATM card.
The Police Officer had also denied taking their nude video or raping them but admitted having consentual sex with the 17 year old girl which he said he paid for.
Our correspondent further reports that the Android phone belonging to the 17 year old girl that she accused Inspector Kazeem of seizing it from her, was recovered from the Police Officer.
