MAY DAY: Adopt TLC Practice, Comr. Mbeleokpo Urges Nurses And Midwives . . . Appeal For Implementation Of Reversed Call Duty Allowance

The Bayelsa State chairperson of the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (NANNM), Comr Mrs Andabai Mbeleokpo Sonia, has charged Nurses and Midwives to adopt the professional practice of ‘TLC’ – Tender, Love, Care.
Mbeleokpo, who gave the charge while chatting with journalists during the Workers Day celebration, May 1st, added that imbibing the practice would help the public agitate for members welfare improvement.
She advised members to be more dedicated to their duties in caring both for the sick and those that need medical attention but do not know how to go about getting it.
The labour leader scored the prosperity government of Senator Douye Diri a pass mark of seventy percent on his relationship with workers in the state when compared with previous administrations.
She said, “This 2022 workers day was epoch, we have not had it this good for sometime. The award to the best three on match pass parade was innovative.
“The governor has done well when it comes to the welfare of the civil servants. He has granted most request by us.”
Though, like Oliver Twist, she said they are expecting the government to do more.
In her words; “We are expecting the government to do more, especially in the area of touching lives. The Primary Health Centres need to be built and brought to world standard. Even the General Hospitals need to be rehabilitated and properly equipped with modern facilities.”
The NANNM chairperson appealed to the state governor to specially look into their REVERSED CALL DUTY ALLOWANCES that has been approved since 2014 but not implemented by previous administrations.
She urged the public to stop patronizing quacks.
