Rivers Police Re-Arrest Two Over 2 Years -Old -Twins Defilement . . . Mother Cries For Justice

The Rivers State Police Command has re-arrested a 16 and 19 years old brothers for allegedly defiling a set of 2 years old twins.

The arrest was effected in Port Harcourt by men of the Puff Ader Tactical Unit, Rivers State Police Command, Monday, April 25th.

Mother of the twins, Mrs Achinihu Clement, while narrating how she found out what had happened to her son, said:
“I wanted to dress my son up on 10th of January, 2022, I observed that my son was not able to sit on the bed, upon interrogation, my son told me that my male inlaw aged 16 years who resides with us tampered with his anus.”

Mrs Clement revealed that she immediately took the children to the hospital after checking her son, it was also discovered that the hymen of her two year old female twin child has also been completely broken.

“It was at the hospital i found out that the girl had also been raped.

“I broke into tears when my child told three doctors and two nurses that interrogated her of the identity of who did it.”

Her discovery, she said prompted her to make an entry at Puff Ader tactical unit of the Nigerian Police and the suspects were arrested but later released, according to her.

She said: “Now that the suspects have been re-arrested, i want justice to prevail. I want justice to be given to my little children.”

In a related development, the Centre for Basic Rights Protection and Accountability Campaign has lauded the Commissioner of Police, CP Eboka Friday for ensuring the re-arrest of the suspects.

A lawyer with the human rights advocacy group, Barr. Charles O. Edward called for thorough investigation into the incident to determine the culpability of the suspects.

Edwin stressed that if the suspects are found culpable, that they should be made to face the law accordingly.

Reliable source informed Our Correspondent that the suspects have been transferred to human rights desk at Police headquarters, Moscow road Port Harcourt forfurther investigation.
