APC LGA Chairman Calls for Selflessness, Unity Amongst Members

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman of Ahoada East Local Government Area chapter, Rivers State, King Salvation Ezegwogwo JP, has reminded party faithfuls that only selflessness and unity can lead to the desired victory for the party.
Ezegwogwo, who gave the reminder in his Easter message while chatting with journalists, Thursday, April 14th, in Port Harcourt – Rivers State, opined that if Christ was thinking of himself, mankind would have lost redemption.
His words: “I call on my party members – APC, to put the party’s interest above their individual ambition in order to achieve our desired victory.
“This is Easter season, a time when our Saviour, Jesus Christ was crucified in order for us to be saved and become redeemed. That is pure sacrifice. The Bible never mentioned Christ a sinner. But he died for our collective sake.
“We as politicians should borrow from that spirit. To sacrifice our individual ambition for the collective interest of the party, as Christians.
“This is the only way that our desired victory could come easily.”
The LGA party Boss further hinted that the party is large enough to accommodate the needs of its members if in power, adding that the days where; ‘the monkey works, while the baboon eats’, is gone under his watch.
He called for unity of purpose of members, irrespective of caucus and interest, saying,it is the sure door that leads to greater heights in life.
“The unity of purpose of the early Christians was the pivot for the spread of Christianity, after the pentecost.
“The admonition that Paul sows and Appolos waters was a clarion call for unity of purpose. It simply means that all the christian labourers were working to edify Christ and not for achieving personal ambitions,” he urged.
He used the opportunity to congratulate the state leadership of the party on the successful hosting of the Thanksgiving Service and Presidential declaration of the South South leader and Minister of Transportation, Rt Hon Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi.
Ezegwogwo appealed to party members to work towards the victory of the party at all levels, by obeying instructions and directives given by leadership accordingly.
He wished all the best of the season in humility as exhibited by Christ, Jesus.
