A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ahoada East Local Government Area chapter, Evidence Olimini has advocated for the inclusion of more women in positions of authority in the party.
Olimini, an LGA Ex‐Officio member, made the call while chatting with newsmen at Ogbo Community, Ward 13, Ahoada East LGA during the celebration of the new ward leader, Bestman Nnadi.
According to the APC chieftain, women have the capacity to deliver in any responsibilities entrusted to them, hence, the need to appoint them to positions of trust.
She enjoined the women folks to come into partisan politics en mass and be committed to truly make their impact felt since democracy is anchored on numbers.
Her words: “Women are supposed to be heard. Women have the managerial capacity to handle any office entrusted to them. The party at all levels should look inward and involve more women in its scheme of things.
“Women should not be seen and used only as praise singers, women are well read, women are connected and women are closer to God because of the delicate responsibilities He gave the women “.
On the settled impasse in the LGA, she called on party members to always respect leadership irrespective of any mistakes found, since mistakes are integral part of human beings.
“Respect breeds love. And love is the key to understanding and sustainable development. The party can not move forward when there is much rancour and hatred. Development strives where there is love.
“So, let us learn to disagree to agree. Let us learn to imbibe the spirit of forgiveness. These can be possible where love reigns. Love is the anchor word. Let us shun personal interest for the sake of the party. Our goal should be victory come 2023 at all electoral levels, which can not be achieved under rancour and infighting,” she advised.
The Ward 13 political grassroot mobilizer hinted that the emergence of the LGA Party Chairman, King Salvation Ezegwogwo is a blessing to the party and called on all party faithfuls to rally round him for optimum results.
“The election of King Salvation Ezegwogwo as the LGA Party Chairman was a political blessing toourlocalgovernmentarea. He has all that is needed to clinch total victory come 2023 General Elections. He needs our total support and prayers as party members. If we all contribute our little quotas, victory will surely be ours”, she hinted.
Olimini while congratulating the new Ward Leader, called on him to act fatherly and shun all vindictive acts that will discourage him not to carry all members of the Ward along in the party business .
