RECRUITMENT SCAM: NSCDC Arrests Victims, Suspects

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps said it has arrested 100 victims of a recruitment scam while on their way to Kaduna to participate in bogus NSCDC recruitment training and documentation.
The suspect who allegedly recruited the victims, one Gabriel Kingsley, was amongst those arrested.
Parading the victims and the suspect at the NSCDC headquarters in Abuja on Monday, August 16th, the Corps Public Relations Officer (CPRO), Olushola Odumosu, explained that the victims converged on the Kubwa General Hospital, Abuja, on Saturday, from where they took off to Kaduna in buses.
Soft copies of appointment letters from different ministries and agencies were found in Kingsley’s phone.
Odumosu said the victims came from Ogun, Lagos, Ekiti and other states of the federation, adding that they confessed to paying thousands of naira to the suspect.
According to him: “More importantly also, the suspected mastermind,, Mr Gabriel Kingsley, was also nabbed by the gallant female squad and brought back from Kaduna to the NSCDC national headquarters for further investigation and interrogation.”
Arrested victims comprised of pregnant and nursing women and young graduates.
