EOG Will Synergize With Others To Reposition Ekpeye – National Chairman . . . Traditional Rulers Will Give EOG Support – Eze Eyiba

AHOADA: The National Chairman of Ekpeye Oil And Gas Pipelines Host Families Association (EOG), Comrade Dogini Chidi, has called on interest groups in the area to close ranks and work together in order to position Ekpeye ethnic nation in its rightful place.
Dogini made the call on Saturday, June 12th, at the end of a meeting between EOG and Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) and Morpol Engineering Ltd in Port Harcourt.
According to Dogini, EOG is poised to sanitize the backlog of neglect, cheating and shortchanging of Ekpeye Ethnic Nation by International Oil Companies (IOCs) operating in the area.
The chairman who was fielding questions from newshounds, described the meeting as successful since it has opened an avenue for future discussions that would lead to resolution of industrial disputes.
He reiterated that the protest embarked by EOG was in the best interest of Ekpeye Ethnic Nation and especially the communities Morpol Engineering Ltd operations impacted directly.
Meanwhile, the head of the mediation team and monarch of Igbuduya kingdom, His Majesty, Eze Joshua Eyiba has stated that traditional rulers in Ekpeye land would support EOG to achieve its objectives.
Eze Eyiba admonished SPDC’s lack of safety measures that culminated to the death of his subject.
He warned that immediate steps be taken to douse the already heated relationship between the companies and its host.
He urged members of EOG to keep the flag of changing the Ekpeye narrative flying, advising that it should be done within the orbit of the law of the land.
Also speaking on the outcome of the meeting, His Royal Highness, Eze Ikaki S. Ikaki, chairman Ekpeye Council of Chiefs and Traditional Rulers confirmed the success of the meeting, adding that Morpol Engineering Ltd has been directed to continue talks with EOG and Odieke Ugbobi community to achieve mutual understanding.
He collaborated that Ekpeye traditional institution appreciated the efforts put in place by the oil and
gas group to stop the continuous shortchanging of Ekpeye Ethnic Nation.
