RIVERS LGA ELECTION: I Will Institute A Project in Each Community – APGA Chairmanship Candidate

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Chairmanship Candidate for the forthcoming Rivers State April 17 local government election in Ahoada East, Newton Gordon Kpasa has promised that he would execute people based projects in each of the communities in the area if elected.
Kpasa, who made the promise during a chat with some media houses in Ahoada Town on Easter Monday, added that the people would choose the type of project needed in each community.
He condemned the attitude of politicians who do not pay visits or hold town hall meetings with their people after each election, promising that his government would give reciprocal powers to the people.
On how to source for funds to use for the envisaged projects, the APGA candidate said; “I will focus on how to increase the LGA Internally Generated Revenue (IGR). We are going to construct a standard trailer park and International Market.
“These projects and more when completed will help in boasting the IGR of the LGA. There won’t be new tax regime, because we won’t want to impoverish our people the more.”
The APGA Chairmanship Candidate further hinted that human capital development is one of his priorities, so, he will pay bursary to students of the LGA origin in tertiary institutions.
He thanked the governor,security agencies and Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) for creating conducive environment for their campaigns, appealing that same be replicated during the election proper.
In a related development, the Ahoada East APGA Spokesperson, Comr Oyi Ozuka Thompson has called on the people of the area to take their destiny in their hands come April 17 and change bad governance with their Voters Card.
Oyi averred that the era of governance by scam is over, with his party waiting in the wing to deliver dividends of democracy that is due the people.
He listed the Ahoada stadium, bogus bursary list, pot holes, non provision of electrical transformers and delay in hooking up Ward 10 to the National Grid by the ruling PDP government in the LGA as some of the shortcomings.
The opposition Spokesman called on the people to be decisive in voting out the bad government of People Democratic Party (PDP) in the LGA.
He charged them not to be deceived by rumour and propaganda of the PDP that the governor has already chosen the incumbent to continue in office.
